Elstead are very proud to partner with Flambeau Lighting, USA since 2012. We manufacture under licence a selection of approximately 100 great designs that Flambeau have to offer, bringing those products to markets that require 220-240V electrics and CE certification.
Flambeau Today
Flambeau Lighting was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2000 by Joe McKearn. With a couple of chance encounters at the Dallas Market Centre with Jonathan Lucas in 2011, they have traded the Flambeau brand across UK, Europe and beyond since.
In January 2017 Joe and Jonathan became partners to form Lucas + Mckearn which is the umbrella brand to carry Flambeau and Elstead designed products to the 110v markets.
With Lucas Mckearn showrooms in the Dallas Market Centre, Atlanta Market and High Point - Flambeau is still very much a brand that interior designers look out for when searching for a conversation piece in the room.

Flambeau History
In late 1999, New Orleans attorney and businessman Joe McKearn was visiting a friend’s design studio when he saw one of the most uniquely designed table lamps he had ever seen. His friend told him it was a custom designed lamp created by award winning designer, Paul Gruer. McKearn arranged to meet Gruer and learned that Paul was a former designer of fine jewellery who had been successfully integrating the design influences of New Orleans into custom lamps, sconces and chandeliers for galleries and interior designers.
Convinced that a ready market would exist for Paul’s unique designs, McKearn was able to secure a licensing agreement to produce and market Paul Gruer’s head-turning lighting designs under the name “Flambeau”.
Since 2000, combining art and design with intriguing function, Paul Gruer and other Flambeau designers have created stunning collections of lamps, chandeliers, pendants, sconces and accessories that are often “the” conversation piece in the most distinctive residences and corporations around the world.
In 2011 Joe McKearn was travelling to the Dallas Market Center from the Dallas airport in a shuttle taxi and started talking with fellow passenger Jonathan Lucas, the Managing Director of British Lighting Manufacturer Elstead Lighting. Six months later McKearn jumped into another Shuttle Taxi at the same airport, and heard Lucas say “Hello Joe”. After having a good laugh, they realised the universe was trying to tell them something and, the rest is history. Elstead manufactured under licence these unique Flambeau designs to introduce them to the UK, European and Middle East Markets in 2012.
In 2017 Joe and Jonathan set up a new partnership Lucas McKearn which was to become the umbrella brand to bring Flambeau and Elstead Lighting designs to the US market. With Lucas Mckearn showrooms in the Dallas Market Centre, Atlanta Market and High Point - Flambeau is still very much a brand that interior designers look out for when searching for a conversation piece in the room.
In 2018 Lucas McKearn established a headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with an office and distribution centre, enabling deeper stock and faster delivery.
In more recent years they have introduced some very unique bathroom lighting for the Flambeau brand and picture lights from the Elstead Brand, to keep offering fresh product and categories for Flambeau (Lucas McKearn) loyal customers.
