Bespoke Shademaking

In the spring of 2018, Elstead Lighting Ltd developed the Designer’s Light Box brand, which focuses on designers and specialist retailers. Supporting this, we also brought the manufacture of handcrafted shades in-house at our new UK facility near Silverstone and at the headquarters in Alton, Hampshire.

With acquiring this great heritage in shade making, we are delighted to offer a comprehensive collection of shape and size options, in over 250 beautiful fabrics.

OUR SHADE FABRICS

We have a wide selection of fabrics, including luxury silks, satins and velvets as well as more affordable faux silks, textured satins, linens and polycottons. The patterned fabrics we offer include subtle self-patterns in a variety of colours, traditional florals, country prints, geometric designs as well as a fun collection of materials suitable for children’s rooms.

One-off fabric samples are available, although retailers may purchase a Plain and/or Patterned Fabric Book with samples of all our available fabrics here. Swatches can be browsed on our website and you can make a full shade enquiry, however, please be aware that we cannot guarantee fabrics will look the same as they appear on your screen.
